Life After Death in the Faith Traditions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam

This lecture places focus on the different beliefs about life after death in Abrahamic

When
4:30 to 6 p.m., Feb. 22, 2017

Jews, Christians and Muslims are members of the Abrahamic family of faith, all claiming descent from the family of Abraham. Yet despite their common origins, they have followed their separate paths, not always in ways that are respectful of one another.

There is no greater certainty than the certainty of death. What remains a mystery for believers and nonbelievers alike is what happens after we die. Is death final, is there an afterlife and if so, what form does it take? Whatever the response, it can only be viewed as an act of faith. How Judaism, Christianity and Islam have each addressed this dilemma will be the focus of our conversation this afternoon.
