Lane Van Ham is the author of A Common Humanity: Ritual, Religion, and Immigrant Advocacy in Tucson, Arizona (University of Arizona Press, 2011) and specializes in religious dimensions of attitudes toward immigrants to the United States. He is a Professor of English at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri, and co-chairs the Religions, Peace, and Social Conflict group of the American Academy of Religion.
